Community Service

Do you agree or disagree with Community Service?

I am going to talk about Ulacit Community Service.

For me, community service is a good thing for helping people.

In different fields of society, such as abandoned children, assisted living facilities, drug addicts, mistreated women, etc.

Community service in the moral values is to make conscience about the privileges given to us by God, and all those good things given in our house by our family.

We also, can see how to live, in terms of the money, own things, parents, relatives, different ways to live, and different points of view.

When you work in any area of these, you find limitations, lack of love, in certain cases they don´t receive relative’s visits, and they suffer sadness, some of them cry.

With all these examples, I finally understand… Why do you must do community service?

In conclusion, community service is not only a requisite is a way for rewarding or sharing with needed people a lot of things that we have. 

Living Longer

Advantages or disadvantages of living long.

When you have a good life, you get several advantages for living long such these:

• The physical activities: play sports, swimming, running, go to the gym, etc.
•  Have a good health.
•  No illnesses.
•  Absences of deficiencies.
• Enjoy life: sharing with the family, friends.
• Be proactive.
• And a lot of more things…

On the other hand, if you have a long life, probably you have these options:

•  If you don´t have family you would be alone.
• Could have feelings like: sadness, sorrow, anguish, pain.
• Lack of happiness.
• Be a passive person.
• Could be inclined to suffer sicknesses or something like that.
• And more…

Intelligent Animals

Can Animals be considered intelligent? Why or why not?

Absolutely true, certain animals could be considered intelligent because of their skills to understand, learn, follow instructions, and do things and many other activities.

For example, the pig is a intelligent animal, because it is able to follow instructions better than a dog. Some studies say, pigs are more intelligent than a kid of three years old. 

On the other hand, the dolphins are capable to learn, to know and to analyze different behaviors. For example they teach to its babies, how to do tricks, how must to find its own feed, to defend themselves from predators, to communicate with each other, etc…

In order to find intelligent animals they are a lot of them. Nevertheless, also other dumb animals exist, like insects, bugs, worms, mosquitoes, etc.

Humans Beings are a kind of animals, for this simple argument they are intelligent animals; and an intelligent animal depends on who says this phrase or what the comparison is.

Smoking

Essay about to smoke in public.

In three months New Yorkers won´t be able to smoke in different areas such as parks, beaches, and public spaces due to the measures approved by the Congress. This summer they could breath a cleaner y fresher air because the Major Michael Bloomberg approved the prohibition.

In Spain, in 2010 they took measures like to approve an “Anti-tobacco Law”. With that they hope to reduce in a 10% the number of smokers. Like New York, they can´t smoke in public places. Besides, the Law contributes to reduce between 30% and 40% new smokers, according to President against Smoking.

In Honduras an advertisement puts a “Stop” for smoking in public. This country adopted measures to restrict smoking like in different countries in the world. Peculiarly, in this country If a person smokes at home, the family could accuse her/him of being a to the transgressor member.

Particularly in Costa Rica, people are doing campaigns against cigarettes and smoking in indoor public spaces such as hotels, and outdoor sites like parks, high-schools, hospitals, etc. The Congress said that this Law wants to avoid damages and bring benefits for everybody, including the passive smokers by creating a fresh environment. 

Obstacles

                             

            How do you overcome the obstacles?

Well, when I saw this question I thought that everyone has obstacles. You could have physical obstacles or, some stuck in your mind only.

The real important thing is, if you have a limitation in your life, either, physical, or mental, you must to try for all means to overcome these challenges.

Life is weird, but it doesn´t give you anything that you can´t overcome. The change begins when you make a decision. When you say… “I can do that” or… “I can do this again”.

Never give up, because this only shows that you have a limited mind and you aren´t able to fight against your obstacles.

Media

The influence of media on societal values.

First of all, I think the media has a big influence on people, because you are constantly bombarded with publicity and advertises on the TV.

Also, different industries like fashion, food, and others, do things that invite people to copy them. The kids (girls and boys) are easily influenced. Then, young people think that not eating and being skin is good. It´s usual when you surf in internet, and you can see different forums talking about anorexia, bulimia as a normal way of life.

On the other hand, the media helps you in different contexts; for example; If you need to know the news, the weather, if you´re looking for information related with a homework, if you want to listen to music, etc.

We have to be careful with the way in which we allow that media to influence us, so we don´t become an easy prey.
